Passive Income MVP - Asset #1: Your Platform

Asset 1 in the Passive Income MVP can make us money right away!  

       How?  By getting attention on our content and money making links.

       There's no reason to not get started making posts on one of FREE platforms, today!  I want you to take action, so let's address some of the barriers.

1. "I don't know where to post.  YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, there's too many options!"

First, it doesn't matter.  Every platform has people, so every platform is can work.  I suggest doing what's most comfortable, because it'll be the one that's easiest to start and grow.

Second, use YouTube.  I know, I just said it doesn't matter, but it matters enough to include YouTube no matter what.  

        I'll make a whole article about why but the short of it is this: longevity.  Better than any other platform, YouTube content has the potential to gain new viewers for months, even YEARS after being posted.  This means amazing opportunity to grow as each video continues to work for us as we make more videos.  The best part is that content we make for any other platform can be reformatted to work on YouTube.  (Again, I'll make a whole article about this in the future.)

2. "I don't know what to post about / I don't know what's my niche."

The key to this is realizing that, again, It Doesn't Matter!  Just like exercise, the best one to use is the one you stick with.  Pick one or more topic that energizes you when you talk about them.  That energy is what will make people want to pay attention and will make you want to keep going.

My favorite video on this topic is by Dan Koe, a successful content marketer, who made a video called "You are the Niche" (link at the bottom), meaning more important than picking the right niche is understanding that you, the person behind the niche, is what people are drawn to.  Even in this AI world, a platform with a personality is powerful.  More importantly, its sustainable, because as we evolve, so does our content.

3. Can I really make money?

Yes.  It's a numbers game, and anything can go viral.  Whether you have a lot of views on one post or some views on a lot of posts, accumulating views is the name of the game.  Keep getting views and you'll start getting clicks on your offers.

4. Isn't going viral hard?

Yes and no.  But either way going viral is not required.  The growth of your platform is.  My opinion is this: Growing fast is challenging.  But growing naturally happens naturally, with time.  Focus on growing in knowledge and skill in using your platform, and embrace your new role as a content creator.  And your reach will grow with it.

        Your first posts will be fun; your future posts will be fantastic.  Embrace the first steps toward becoming an expert.


Let's talk more about money. 

        As we grow our knowledge, skills, and reach, many money making opportunities become available: affiliate marketing, ads, paid posts, and partnerships.

        But when starting, the best monetization option is affiliate marketing.  It's the most immediate money making opportunity.  Promoting  a product, service, or course created by someone else means that your very first viewer could turn into a paying customer.  

AND

        By promoting the right offers, we can create recurring income from each sale.  That's where money magic happens.

        Once you're making posts with attached promotions, it becomes a numbers game.  

More views = more sales.

        So it literally pays to know how to get more views.  There is a lot of great information about how to get views and engagement on your content, absolutely for free.  And in the interest of making the most of our learning time, having a structured course or book could make it really easy to gain exactly what you need in the shortest time possible.  Either way, focus on learning, and your platform will grow.
